Identity Integration Quotient / 25 items / 8 minutes
I²Q measures how much of an athlete's identity is wrapped up in the sport, and how ready they are for the day it stops. Programs use it to recruit athletes who will hold up, keep the ones they already have, and see the transfer portal coming before it hits the roster.

Coaches can see a bad practice. Trainers can see a bad knee. Nobody can see an athlete whose whole sense of self is riding on next season, until it goes wrong. I²Q puts a number on it. The athlete with no floor under him is the one who hits the portal after a bad spring. The one with a floor stays, grows, and graduates. I²Q tells you which is which, before you sign him and before he leaves.

Together they tell you one thing: is there a person behind the player, or is the player all there is.
01 / 05
How much of "who I am" is "what I play."
Low looks like: an athlete who answers every question about themselves with their position and their stats, and goes quiet when the sport is taken out of the sentence.
02 / 05
Whether setbacks become a story the athlete can use, or a wall they hit.
Low looks like: a loss, an injury, or a benching that doesn't get processed. It just sits there and shows up later as attitude, isolation, or quitting.
03 / 05
How clearly the athlete can see and plan for a life past the sport.
Low looks like: "I'll figure it out when I get there." No major picked with intent, no relationships outside the team, no plan B because plan A is the whole identity.
04 / 05
Whether the athlete actually uses the people and resources around them.
Low looks like: a locker room full of resources and an athlete who won't walk through the door. Pride, shame, or just not knowing who to ask.
05 / 05
Whether the drive to be great in the sport transfers to being great anywhere.
Low looks like: an athlete who is relentless in the weight room and passive in the classroom, the internship, and every room without a scoreboard.
Every score is benchmarked against our pooled sample of 550+ college athletes.

The instrument
25 items. Eight minutes. Athletes open a team link on their phone, answer, and they're done. No app to download, no account to make. Every response lands in our database, never a third-party survey tool, so the data stays clean and stays yours to act on.
Athletes take it.
02
The readout
Within minutes of the last athlete finishing, your program gets a two-page team readout: the five construct scores, where your team sits against the benchmark, and the one construct that needs attention first. Every athlete gets their own individual score page. Program leads get a dashboard across every team.
Programs read it.

The work
The readout tells us where to start. From there: a live session built in the room around your weakest construct, workshops, and a coaching layer for the athletes who need more than a workshop. We don't walk in with a generic talk. We walk in with your data.
Athletes and programs work it.
For teams
One team, one link, one readout. We run I²Q with a single roster at no cost, deliver the two-page team readout, and walk your staff through it on a 30-minute call. Most programs use this to decide whether to go department-wide. Nothing to lose but a guess.
Start a free run →For athletic departments
Every team, every athlete, one dashboard. Your Senior Associate AD for Student-Athlete Development sees the whole department on one screen: which teams are strong, which construct is weakest across the building, and where to put the next dollar of programming. Includes a live session for each team built around its own readout, and a re-test at the end of the year so you can show growth.
Talk to us about your department →For pro athletes
For current and recently retired professionals. Take the assessment, get your individual readout, then work one-on-one with a coach who has lived the transition and knows what the numbers mean. This is the part of the career nobody prepares you for. We do.
Get your individual readout →For recruits and families
Identity coaching for high school athletes and their parents through the recruiting cycle. The family gets a shared language before the offers start coming in, so the decision gets made by the person, not the pressure.

I²Q was co-authored with Dr. Britton Brewer of Springfield College, co-creator of AIMS (the Athletic Identity Measurement Scale), the most-cited athletic identity measure in the field. Validation work is ongoing with Dr. David Lavallee of Abertay University. We built it to hold up in a research journal, not just a staff meeting.

Download the sample readoutI'm Matt Singletary. I played linebacker at Baylor, dabbled in the NFL, and finished my career in the CFL. My dad is in the Hall of Fame. I grew up in a house where football wasn't a sport, it was the family business. So when my career ended, I didn't lose a job. I lost my identity.
I spent years rebuilding it. Along the way I co-founded Fieldhouse Standard to help athletes build it before they need it, and I headed to Harvard to learn how to scale it. I²Q is the instrument that came out of that work, built with Dr. Britton Brewer so that it measures what it claims to measure.
The goal is simple: no athlete should find out who they are the morning after their last game.

1
We send you one team link. Your athletes take I²Q on their phones in eight minutes. No setup on your end.
2
You get the two-page team readout and a 30-minute walkthrough with our team. You'll know your weakest construct before the call ends.
3
We build the session around what the data says, then talk about what department-wide looks like. Or you walk away with a free readout and a clearer picture of your roster. Either way, you're ahead of where you were.
Find out who on your roster is ready for that, and who isn't, before it costs them. Tell us about your program and we'll send one team link within two business days.
